For those assorted Chinese watches from late 40'c to early 60'c in China , the common name in local Chinese vintage watch market, is called "Hua Cheng(華城)".
Actually, beside of Hua Cheng, there were also quite a lot of watch companies available at that time and most of them were based in Shanghai. For example, they are FarEast (遠東), BaoShi(寶石), GuangMing光明,ShenChang(慎昌),MeiYa(美亞), PuJiang (浦江),ShangLin (上林), Shangling(上菱)......
They are very cheap watches in China now a day as not too many local collector wants it or even know it. Due to their poor water-proofing quality and most of them are used imported movement, a completed watch is very hard to find.
It's quit hard to forecast the value of this series of watches as well as most of the vintage Chinese watches. But for very sure, it will be more hard to find when the watch collecting group in China is grew.

History of Watch Industry in China

Chinese Watch industry as well as the Shanghai Watch Factory was founded in 1955. From the time being, there was only few watch factories whose produce watch cases, hands, dials from 40~50'c. They assorted their PRODUCTS with the imported watch movement and marked their name or logo on to release to the market . From 1955 a completed Chinese watch factory is founded - a very important milestone for localized watch industry in China.

No matter it was a designated mission from the government or for any other reason. It's affected the late half century for billions of Chinese daily life and the watch making industry in China for almost half centry.
